Cotton Candy Machine (with cart) — Rental Guidelines
Before You Start
- Break up any sugar lumps before filling the machine.
Setup & Operation
- With the machine OFF, fill the center of the spinner head with sugar (no lumps). Fill to about ½ inch from the top.
- DO NOT OVERFILL. Overfilling can damage the machine.
- Turn ON the spinner motor (switch at the front). A small amount of un-spun sugar may spin out at first.
- Turn ON the heater (switch at the front). After about 20 seconds, floss will begin accumulating on the sides of the pan.
-
When enough floss builds up:
- Touch the wide end of the cone to the back of the pan so floss sticks.
- Twist the cone to wrap floss, then lift straight up over the spinning head.
- Continue twisting and moving around the pan to gather floss evenly.
Turning the Machine Off
- Turn OFF the heater first.
- Let the spinner head run for about 1 minute to cool.
- Turn OFF the spinner motor.
Important: If you shut off the spinner too soon, un-spun sugar can harden in the head and prevent continued production.
Adjustments
Heat Output
- If floss comes out too fast: turn the heat dial counter-clockwise.
- If floss comes out too slow: turn the dial clockwise.
- Never turn the heating control dial to maximum — the machine may smoke.
Floaters (Leather Pieces on the Head)
- The two leather pieces are called floaters. They act like a fan to push floss toward the mesh.
- Since the head spins counter-clockwise:
- Twist floaters clockwise to distribute floss higher in the pan.
- Twist floaters counter-clockwise to distribute floss lower in the pan.
- If adjustments are ever needed: make small changes, then evaluate.
If you have questions, please call our office.
Safety Warnings
- MAINTAIN A GAP BETWEEN THE MESH AND THE PAN SO AIR CAN PASS THROUGH.
- If necessary (machine OFF), remove stuck-on sugar from the mesh to allow airflow.
- NEVER TOUCH THE SPINNER HEAD WHILE IT IS MOVING.
- DO NOT TOUCH the slotted band around the spinner head — it gets hot.
- NEVER TURN HEATING CONTROL DIAL TO MAXIMUM — MACHINE MAY SMOKE.
Cleaning
Please do not clean the Cotton Candy machine.
