Gladiator Joust Instructions & Safety Rules
Have fun but stick to the rules.
Gladiator Joust Rules
Before entering
- Shoes off before entering the unit.
- Remove or avoid items that can hurt riders or damage the inflatable, including:
- Shoes
- Sharp objects (keys, tools, hair clips, etc.)
- Toys (especially hard toys)
- Glasses (remove if possible)
- Sand / gritty debris
- Silly string
- Ink pens/markers
- Jewelry (especially sharp pieces or long necklaces)
- Food, drinks, and gum
- No animals in, on, or near the unit.
- Do not bring any item that could be unsafe or cause damage to the unit.
Setup & supervision
- Play only when the unit is fully inflated.
- If the unit starts losing air, everyone must exit immediately.
- Operator(s)/attendant(s) must be present at all times to referee and assist participants as needed.
- Set up with approximately 5 feet of clearance from any fixed object (fence, wall, tree, wires, etc.).
- Adult supervision is required at all times.
Safe play
- One group at a time: riders must exit before new riders enter.
- Do not climb on the outside of the unit or around the blower(s).
- Do not exceed the recommended number of riders.
- Separate riders by size and/or age to prevent injuries.
- No flips, wrestling, wall-slams, or roughhousing.
Joust equipment rules
- No jabbing with the joust (fugal) sticks.
- Do not hit an opponent above the shoulders or below the belt.
- Do not remove joust sticks or pedestals from the inflated arena.
- Wear all protective gear provided (including headgear, if included).
Weather & water
- Do not allow the unit to get wet.
- The blower(s) must remain ON at all times during use.
- Rain or high winds: remove riders immediately and unplug blower(s) at the wall outlet (wet ground can be a slip/shock hazard).
- Do not allow equipment to get wet (especially pedestals, joust sticks, headgear, and the blower).
